InfraRed Threads - Embroidery Design Terms of use and Other Information

THREAD COLOR INFORMATION:

InfraRed Threads designs are digitized using Isacord or Floriani polyester thread colors. When they are converted to other file formats, the colors may not be shown as originally designed. However, embroidery is creative and artistic and I encourage you to use colors that fit your needs and bring out your creativity! That is why embroidery is so much fun!

STABILIZING:

To obtain the best results from your embroidery, be sure to use the proper stabilizer for your project. Stabilizers are specific to the fabric that you are embroidering on. If you are not using the correct stabilizer, it can affect the quality of your designs including outlines not being placed correctly, gaps and puckering. My favorite stabilizer is a sticky back tear away which I use on cotton to float the fabric. I also use a fusible no-show mesh for t-shirt fabrics and water soluble stabilizer on top for deep pile fabric such as towels, robes and fleece.

USING DESIGN

InfraRed Threads designs are for use with an embroidery machine. You may need embroidery software for your computer to properly merge letters and designs. We use Embrilliance products.

BUSINESS USE & LICENSING

You may use this design to stitch finished items for personal use or for sale in your home business. You may not use this design for mass production of finished goods or commercial purposes without purchasing a commercial license from InfraRed Threads. The designs are the intellectual property of InfraRed Threads.

No one else is authorized to offer licensing of our products.

FILE SHARING & SALE

This design file may not be shared, transmitted, copied, transferred, altered for sale or resold in its original, digital format. You may not use our files to create other embroidery designs for resale. You may not use this design file to create printed items, heat transfer items, images and/or graphics or any other format, digital or otherwise.

PHOTOGRAPH / IMAGE USE

InfraRed Threads Inc has included a photograph or digital images (jpeg) of the design files for use in advertising and sales for your home business. You are free to use any of the images included with your files for this purpose as long as you do not alter the images or remove the InfraRed Threads watermark.

InfraRed Threads designs can be stitched on items to be used for personal use, gifts or items to sell. Designs may not be used in mass production where a production line is used to stitch the designs. If you would like to mass produce with my designs, please email me to enter into a licensing agreement.

Actual embroidery designs, either, purchased designs or free designs, cannot be sold, traded, shared or included in other design packages for resale or given free. Copying with intent to share with friends or family is also not allowed.

Please note that reselling or copying embroidery designs or sharing them is a copyright violation and is illegal. This is irrespective of whether you purchase the design or download a free sample. Legal action will be taken if it is found that InfraRed Threads designs are being resold or given away without a licensing agreement. By purchasing and downloading designs, you merely have a license to use the designs for personal use in accordance with InfraRed Threads’s terms.

However, you are allowed and encouraged to make one copy for your own personal back-up purposes.

You are also allowed to customize designs for your personal use, but you must not offer the customized embroidery design files for resale (only on hand finished products), give it away or claim it in any way as your own.

NOTE: We do not guarantee the quality of our designs if they have been in any way edited, altered, or resized.

WHAT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO WITH OUR DESIGNS:

Use the embroidery designs to sew on items for personal use.

Sell items you have sewn with our designs in your small business, on your personal website, Etsy, craft shows, etc.

Use the sewn designs for small commercial jobs NOT to exceed 100 products. NO MASS PRODUCTION.

Use the outline photo with the watermark left in tack for use on your business page.

WHAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO WITH OUR DESIGNS:

NOT allowed to sell, resell, share , give away, or copy InfraRed Threads digital designs in any part or whole.

CAN NOT sell InfraRed Threads designs as is and claim them as your own.

CAN NOT share or giveaway InfraRed Threads designs for free.

CAN NOT use any parts of InfraRed Threads designs to create your own designs in part or whole and sell on a competitor's website.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads designs for heat transfers or screen printing.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads designs for vinyl.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads designs for mass production or manufacturing like Zazzle/Spoonflower/Cafe Press, and any type POD services or the like.

MAY NOT make cutting machine files out of any of InfraRed Threads designs for personal or commercial use.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads designs to create bulk items to be sold wholesale to retail stores or wholesaled to larger companies or internet sites or any other means.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads images to create printed paper items.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads images for web design graphics.

MAY NOT use InfraRed Threads images for logos or any other derived works.

CAN NOT use our fonts to create an embroidery design and sell that digital embroidery.

MAY NOT use our designs for vinyl designs using a cutting machine such as Silhouette Cameo, Cricut or the like.
