How It Started

I started Infrared Threads because I wanted to learn how to digitize embroidery designs that I could customize myself. As I practiced and experimented, I realized I had built a small collection of designs that I had only used once or twice. Rather than letting them sit unused, I decided to share them with others by selling them on Etsy. Before I knew it, my collection had grown to over 200 designs, and I took the next step—expanding to my own website. Today, that collection has grown to over 700 designs, with more being added regularly!

The Creative Process

Digitizing embroidery designs has become my creative outlet—a way to stay busy, challenge myself, and continue learning. I’m a lifelong learner, always looking for ways to enhance my skills and knowledge in embroidery digitizing. Every design I create is a step closer to mastering this intricate craft, and I love seeing my work transform into stitched art.

Quality & Testing

I take pride in providing high-quality embroidery designs that people enjoy using to create physical products. All my designs are tested before they’re sold, ensuring they stitch out beautifully. If you could peek into my workspace, you’d find piles of fabric covered in test stitches—each one representing the time and effort that goes into perfecting every design. Some took multiple iterations to get just right, but that’s part of the fun!

A Passion for Embroidery

I’ve always had a love for crafting. As a kid, I learned how to sew and later dabbled in knitting and crocheting, but those didn’t quite hold my attention. Then I discovered embroidery digitizing, and it felt like the perfect fit. There’s something incredibly satisfying about bringing a design to life through stitches.

My goal is to continue growing and refining my skills, knowing that mastering digitizing will take years—but I’m excited for the journey. In the meantime, I’m thrilled to share my designs with you, helping you create something amazing with every stitch.

Meet the Studio Assistants

While I don’t share personal photos online, you might spot my two studio assistants—Pippa and Indigo! These two feline supervisors ensure I take regular breaks (for their benefit, of course) and occasionally inspect my work by lounging on fabric piles. They take their quality control duties very seriously! (Getting them together for a photo is another challenge altogether, but I’m working on it!)
